Laguerre Gaussian Laser Filamentation for the Control of Electric Discharges in Air

Abstract

We study experimentally and numerically the filamentation produced by various Laguerre gaussian (LG) beams in air and demonstrate their ability to guide electric discharges over longer distances than gaussian beams.
