Abstract

his paper presents the concept of a multisector absorbing material allowing increasing the angular range of absorption. It is composed of two different absorbers optimized for two particular incidences that are joined together to form the global absorbing material. These both thin and lightweight absorbers have already been validated for space applications in the [2-2.3 GHz] band. The results demonstrate that this multisector absorber performs better than one absorber with the same dimensions. Indeed, it is possible to increase the initial angular range of angle of incidence from [0°-50°] to [0 °-56 °] in TE polarization for a reflection coefficient magnitude below -10 dB. Moreover, the proposed structure presents enhanced absorption until 68°.
