Abstract

The existence of linear and nonlinear thresholds of neoclassical tearing modes (NTM) in tokamaks was presented. The full scale magnetohydrodynamical simulations with bootstrap current and transport effects confirmed the existence of nonlinear threshold for NTM. It was shown that NTM as an ordinary linear instability at large resistivity supress the nonlinear stability threshold.
