Abstract

We analyze finite-element-based stabilization techniques for first-order PDEs within the framework of symmetric Friedrichs' systems, including residual-based methods like Galerkin/least-squares and fluctuation-based methods like continuous interior penalty, local projection stabilization and subgrid viscosity.
