Abstract

Using a novel method of beam profile reconstruction with beam-gas interactions a preliminary measurement of the luminosity in the LHCb detector is presented for the LHC pilot run of December 2009. The integrated luminosity for the runs considered is found to be 6.8±1.0 µb^-,.
