Abstract

The magnetic susceptibility, χ, has been measured between 1.5 and 300 K for three high quality icosahedral quasicrystals of AlCuFe with electrical resistivities in the range 4.5-10 mΩ-cm. After correction for the important contribution from minute amounts of Fe clusters, the magnetic susceptibility is found to be diamagnetic for all samples the temperatures.
