Abstract
Understanding the limits of ultra fast magnetic storage technologies requires addressing the dynamics of magnetization of magnetic matter at sub micrometric and nanometric scale. As the dimension of the magnetic particle is reduced, the relative role of surface and internal matter change. In extended samples (mm scale) the surface and the bulk show distinct magnetization dynamics with faster switching of the surface under the action of an applied reversal field.
