N2 - In this paper we tackle the issue of 3D mesh deformation when hard constraints of warping are imposed by user or application. First, we propose a review of the most salient methods existent in the technical literature. Then we retain for a more detailed analysis only some variants of Laplacian coordinates and Radial Basis Functions techniques that allow fine local movements of vertices and respect a set of constraints. We evaluate the selected techniques in terms of quality deformation, computational efficiency and displacement accuracy. The best results are obtained for the CTPS C2a continuous radial basis function closely followed by CP C2 function.
