Abstract

Pressure is an « intuitive » property of fluids. Pressure measurement is based on how fluids act on solid bodies or liquids : displacement of liquid columns (mechanical gauges, liquid column manometers), body deformation (strain gauges), membrane deformation or piston displacement (many pressure sensors and microphones). We consider some techniques used nowadays for pressure measurement.
