Abstract
A room temperature chemical process has been developed to prepare composite materials formed of different nanometer particles trapped in a glass matrix. This involves a controlled precipitation of the crystallites using usual techniques of colloid chemistry, a grafting of a functionalized alkoxide on the particles and a sol-gel synthesis of transparent oxide matrices.
