Abstract

This paper reports a way to study the rheology of a wormlike micelles solution by PIV measurements inside of a microchannel. We observe the presence of shear-banding in this fluid and achieve a local determination of the stress versus shear rate relation thanks to the high aspect ratio geometry of our microchannel. We observe the developement of an instability in this flow.
