Abstract

The objective of this article is to review some methodological aspects for inverse modelling of emissions in air quality: how to characterise emissions on the basis of observed data and model outputs? Three examples, provided by recent works carried out at CEREA, Joint Laboratory ENPC/EDF R&D, illustrate these topics, inverse modelling of radionuclides at short scales, inverse modelling of NOx emissions over Lille area in Northern France and identification of an accidental release at continental scale.
