Abstract

In the context of large scale deployment of solar energy, sustainability issues have to be considered. They involve scrutiny over the manufacturing processes (material and energy use), the lifetime of the components, their efficiency, etc. In all these domains, chemistry has the potential to provide key solutions as illustrated in this article through thin film solar cells technologies and light-managing materials.
