Abstract
Polyacrylonitrile films grafted by electropolymerisation on a nickel substrate, were exposed at room temperature and under vacuum (10-5 Torr) to a krypton beam of 3300 MeV. Gas desorption was studied simultaneously. Structural modifications induced by the radiation were studied ex situ by infrared reflexion spectroscopy. The main modification of the IRS spectra following the irradiation is a small increase of the 1642 cm-1 band, which is attributed to the CC double bond. This is interpreted by the increase of conjugated bonds in the skeleton. On the other hand, no departure of the CN groups and no cyclisation are observed. The analysis of the desorbed gases confirms these results.
