Abstract
Data on electrons between 0.3 and 22keV collected by GEOS 1 were used to obtain the statistical distribution of electrons in the outer magnetosphere, from 4-21 hours local time and from 4-8 in L-values. More than 80% of the data could be fitted to a sum of 2 Maxwell distributions. The temperatures group around 0.45 and 6.5keV, whereas the densities as well as the energy flux vary strongly with activity level and with local time. -from STAR, 23(9), 1985
