Abstract

Qualitative and quantitative results of a complete relativistic calculation of the [Formula Presented]-matrix transition amplitudes and first Born cross sections for the Mott scattering of an electron in the presence of an ultraintense single-mode laser field are compared in detail to a spinless and a nonrelativistic treatment. The role of the fermion character of the electron leading to spin-orbit and spin-laser interactions is discussed depending on the laser intensity and on the incoming electron kinetic energy. The differences between radiative transfer spectra of the electron energy in the relativistic and nonrelativistic regimes are addressed.
