Multiphoton angular distributions with elliptically polarized light: U. three- and four-photon detachment of halogennegative ions

Abstract

The negative ions F“, Cl-and F-have been submitted to multiphoton excitation by elFipticaily polarized light from a Nd:YAG laser atX =1064 nm. Photoelectron angulardistributions measured in the polarization plane with various ellipticities are fined by the analyticformula that was established in the previous paper. Elliptic asymmetry parameters are obtainedfor three-photon detachment of I" and four-photon detachment of Cl-and F“. Ordinary ‘linear’asymmetry parameters can be deduced from these elliptic asymmetry parameters, which makesit possible to compare the present results with those of previous measurements and calculations.
