Abstract
The new virtual private network (VPN) for providing economical solutions to corporate customers is discussed. A VPN is a general-purpose communication environment allowing user organizations to communicate privately, securely, and transparently through shared resources provided by telecommunication operators. VPN specifies the traffic matrix in which the entries give the required bandwidth between all source-link pairs. It is suggested that cost of a economical VPN can be much lower than the cost of a classical VPN, and the traffic variations can be more easily taken into account.
