Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of various noises in highΔΣ modulator. The effect of jitter and switch noise is the same in HP modulator than in conventional modulator. Theses noises can be considered as white noise and increase the inband noise floor degrading the performance of the high-pass ΔΣ modulator. However, unlike the effect of op-amp noise in the conventional modulator, the op-amp noise is amplified at the output of the high-pass ΔΣ modulator by a factor that depends on the parameters of the high-pass ΔΣ modulator. This factor is first determined by analysis using mainly the linear model of the high-pass ΔΣ modulator and then confirmed by behavioral simulation and measurement.
