Abstract

We present an experimental investigation of an optical limiting device based on nonlinear light scattering due to a photoinduced refractive index mismatch in a colloidal suspension. Several experiments performed at 532 nm with nanosecond laser pulses are described and the origins of the optical limiting effect are discussed.
