Abstract

We present here some aspect of the granular physics, focusing on recent results on granular shear flows and memory effects obtained by the authors. Other recent advances are also discussed showing the large variety of applications and domains concerned by granular systems. However, this document does not pretend to be a review but rather to arbitrary select some results chosen among the exciting and very active recent works.
