Abstract

The optimal laser control of molecular orientation was discussed. An optimal control scheme based on genetic algorithms and tailored to a laser pulse was used for the purpose. The mechansim was based upon a kick imparted to molecule by a sudden asymmtric laser pulse. The methods to further improve the laser control of orientation were also discussed.
