Abstract
This review deals with the phosphonate-phosphonochloridate conversion. The different phosphorus-chlorine bond forming reagents - COCl2, (COCl)2, SOCl2, PCl5, POCl3, Ph3PCl2, trichloro(o-phenylenedioxy)phosphorane - and the reaction conditions that they impose are considered.
