Abstract
In order to meet the regulation of the European Water Framework Directive (WFD), studies have focused on assessing the quality of industrial or wastewater effluents... But scarce are the studies dealing with urban stormwater. Stormwater can be released untreated into receiving waters and thus have an impact on aquatic ecosystems. Thus, the objective of this study was to identify the presence of 88 pollutants (28 priority substances, 17 priority hazardous substances and 43 other urban contaminants) in stormwater. Samples were collected at the outlet of three different catchments in Paris and its nearby suburbs, with different land use pattern. Concentrations were evaluated on both the dissolved and particulate phases. Results showed that 43% of the priority pollutants, 41% of the priority hazardous pollutants and 63% of the other urban contaminants were observed in urban stormwater.
