N2 - In this paper, an original physical layer design of the IEEE 802.15.6 narrowband receiver is proposed, including frame synchronization, timing synchronization, and carrier frequency synchronization. This proposed single-carrier system can be incorporated into a conventional multi-carrier system of the IEEE 802.11 transceiver by reusing its hardware resource. Simulation results show that the performances of the proposed system approach closely to the theoretical performances.
