Abstract

Proton production from ultrathin foils using 3x1020 W/cm2 and 10-11 ASE contrast is explored. Maximum proton energy and laser transmittance for ultrathin foils are studied to achieve ion acceleration within the Directed Coulomb Explosion regime.
