Abstract

A two-chip chipset with integrated solutions for simple profile of real-time motion estimation includes a new number of features, namely: video capture, host interface, formatted video output, filtering, 3:2 pull down, and external memory management. Thus, it prevents the use of external devices to perform the same functions. This chipset surpasses the requirements for high computational power and I/O bandwidth of MPEG-like schemes and implements a more sophisticated algorithm to reach a large search ranges at reasonable cost at main profile.
