Relaxation of rotational-vibrational energy and volume viscosities in H/H2 mixtures

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

We consider H/H2 mixtures in a regime where translational/ rotational and vibrational-resonant energy exchanges are fast whereas vibrational energy variations are slow. Volume viscosities and relaxation phenomena are investigated in a kinetic framework and the theoretical results are compared with state to state calculations from a complete set of cross sections for the H+H2(ν,j) system.
