Abstract
The formation of ultracold molecules via photoassociation of cold cesium atoms is demonstrated using the existence of a new mechanism. It is shown that a resonant coupling between vibrational levels of specific states enables the formation of ultracold molecules of the ground state. This scheme is also observable with many other electronic states and atomic species.
