Abstract

The analysis of saturated amplification of femtosecond laser driven collisional soft X ray lasers was presented. Lasing in Pd-like Xenon was observed at 41.8 nm to observe the variation of lasing signal as a function of the length of the gas cell. Gain value of 67 cm-1 and a gain-length value of 15 +/- 0.7. High photon flux obtained during the experiments established the consistency of results with the amplification saturation.
