Abstract

This paper presents an investigation on the microwave photonic generation using a self-pulsating heterogeneously integrated III-V-on-SOI distributed feedback quantum well laser. By properly adjusting the bias injection currents, we demonstrate the wideband continuous tuning of photonic microwave signals from 5 to 17 GHz.
