Abstract

The wave-front correction of femtosecond pulses distorted by third-order nonlinearities was carried out. To measure with a good accuracy this wave-front distortion, an achromatic three-wave lateral shearing interferometer (ATWLSI) was used. The experiment was performed with a 10-Hz, 100-fs Ti:Sapphire laser with 5-mJ pulses. Results show good improvement of the focusability of a beam distorted by nonlinear effects.
