Solitonlike pulse shortening in a femtosecond parametric amplifier

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaperpeer-review

Abstract

A study was conducted to perform computer simulations and to obtain experimental evidence of soliton-like parametric self-compression in the femtosecond domain. Experiments were performed with a 40-fs laboratory source and with a B.M. Industries Alpha-1000/S laser that yields 80-fs typical pulses at 1 kHz. The experimental results confirm the pulse shortening demonstrated with the fourth-order Runge-Kutta algorithm.
