Abstract

In this paper, the polygonal active contour method (proposed in [1], [2]) is adapted to the case of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images of urban areas. The statistical criterion is modified to be able to deal with multiple images in order to improve the segmentation of buildings. A criterion is proposed and is then implemented and tested over real high resolution SAR images containing urban areas. A discussion about the benefits of this approach is done and further work about 3D statistical active contour is introduced.
