Abstract
A simple and effective strategy for the synthesis of new β-diketone oligothiophenes containing metal centers with tunable optical and electronic properties is presented. Two different approaches for the attachment of oligothiophene groups to the β-diketone core were developed. A successful tuning of the optical properties was achieved, indicating a synergy and coupling between the electronic properties of the metal moiety and those of the π-conjugated backbone.
