Abstract

The head-on collision of laser-induced plasma wakefields has been recently proposed as a method to generate coherent narrow-band THz radiation at the doubled plasma frequency with the record power and total pulse energy. In this paper, we propose a generalized theory describing the same emission process in the case of arbitrary collision angle. The obtained theoretical predictions allow us to determine the acceptable collision angles and corresponding angular distribution of produced radiation in a future laboratory experiment.
