Abstract

This paper presents the experimental results of the transmitted reference Ultra-Wideband signals (TR-UWB) detection using a prototype system. The system is based on the 'Time Delayed Sampling and Correlation' (TDSC) detection method and its implementation on a 0.35 CMOS chip with a sampling frequency as high as 7.5 GHz. This platform allows the evaluation of the circuit performance and validates the first synchronization process stage. Detection of such signals has been successfully carried out through an indoor wireless channel, under line of sight (LOS) and non line of sight (NLOS) measurement conditions, both in the sub GHz band (group 1) and low band UWB signals. Simulation of the synchronization process using the received signals was successfully accomplished.
