Trapping of Single Atoms in Optical Tweezer Arrays Generated by Holographic Metasurfaces

Abstract

We demonstrate single-atom trapping in metasurface optical tweezer arrays, achieving over 250 traps with spacings down to 1.5μ m. This opens path toward arrays with > 100,000 traps, enabling quantum applications requiring large system sizes.
