Abstract

This paper introduces a tri-band double slot patch antenna for wireless local area network (WLAN) applications, IEEE-802.11 a, b/g and y. The design is another variant of generic antenna design approach based on trapezoidal patches. The proposed antenna is optimized by using Genetic Algorithm (GA). Its impedance bandwidth is determined by 10 dB return loss and covers almost all the three bands. It is compact (30 × 22.5 mm2) and demonstrates excellent in-band and out-of-band performances.
