Abstract
A new method for computing the longwave radiative budget from the top of the atmosphere to the surface is presented. This approach, relying on multi-layer neural networks, is very efficient and should allow for benefiting from the best achievable accuracy in the longwave radiative transfer computations needed either by the numerical weather prediction or by the climate models.
