Abstract

Unsteady and three-dimensional simulation of blood flow in the human aortic arch was discussed. CAT scan imaging of human aorta was analyzed to obtain simulation geometry. Results showed that the in addition to extensive curvature the human aortic arch also contains a twist so that the three arch branches lie in different planes.
