Wave nucleation rate in excitable systems in the low noise limit

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The modeling of intracellular calcium dynamics for studying the wave nucleation processes in excitable systems was presented. The study of fluctuation-induced wave nucleation was based on the utilization of a stochastic Fitzhugh-Nagumo model within the low noise limit. The finding of the most probable path via minimization of an action, which deviated from the deterministic trajectories, resulted in the obtaining of nucleation rate.
