Abstract

This paper investigates the possibility and the relevance of applying Wireless Fair Service scheduling (WFS) algorithm in the framework of EGPRS. It presents a Modified Wireless Fair Service (MWFS) algorithm that keeps track of wireless channel variations to increase network performance while maintaining the fairness of WFS. The proposed algorithm is analysed in terms of system procedures and performance metrics (delay and throughput). It is compared to WFQ performances.
