Intérêts de la recherche
After completing a PhD with the PSA Group within the LMS in 1996, Eric Charkaluk joined the company as a research engineer on issues related to the thermomechanical behavior of materials until 2002. Today, Senior Research Scientist (Directeur de Recherche) at CNRS and Associate Professor at École Polytechnique, his research focuses more specifically on the study of the mechanical behavior of metallic materials and fatigue damage at different scales. His research combines a theoretical part implemented by numerical modeling and simulations, with an experimental part which is recently oriented towards metallic materials obtained by additive manufacturing (3D printing).
