abstract = "Overtopping of dams and levees can initiate breach formation through continuous flow, potentially leading to structural failure and significant flooding of the protected area. This study integrated the headcut erosion algorithm from the physically based model WinDAM into the two-dimensional (2D) depth-averaged hydrodynamic software TELEMAC-2D to simulate breach expansion and the resulting inundation. The enhanced model was applied to a laboratory experiment, successfully reproducing the measured breach discharge and demonstrating its capability in simulating breach dynamics.",
