Résumé
The second-order nonlinear response of an isotropic layer of chiral molecules was calculated by extending the two classical models (Kuhn and Kauzmann). Various nonlinear susceptibilities (magnetic dipolar, electric dipolar, and electric quadrupolar) were calculated. These were applied to the derivation of second harmonic field radiated by the molecules. Different results about the origin of the chiral response were obtained by the two models.
