Résumé
While Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) and Low Impact Development (LID) practices are becoming in most countries practitioners "tool of choice" for on-site Stormwater control, only few studies have yet investigated the importance of management criteria given to developers to ensure pollution control. Four categories of Stormwater management criteria were hence identified through a literature analysis of technical guidelines or local rules from various countries or communities. Peak-flow regulation, runoff capture and treatment, permanent interception and loads/concentrations-based criteria were hence compared, owing to their suitability for pollution control and their influence on Stormwater facilities selection and design. While hydrologic criteria based on runoff volume reduction appear as the best choice for on-site pollution control, it should be pointed out that Stormwater management implementation as well depends on tools and guidelines given to practitioners to account for these numerical targets.
