Résumé

Triclosan (TC5), triclocarban (TCC) and parabens testers of para-hydroxbenzoïc acid) are used as bactericide and preservative agents in personal care products. Their extensive consumption generates concerns about their potential effect on both the fauna and flora. Indeed, they are introduced into the receiving environment mainly via wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) and combined sewer overflows. An analytical procedure allowing the simultaneous determination of TCS, TCC and six parabens, that is methylparaben (MeP), ethylparaben (EtP), propylparaben (PrP), butylparaben (BuP), isobutylparaben (IsoBuP) and benzylparaben (BzP) in the dissolved phase of raw wastewater-solid phase extraction (SPE) followed by ultraperformance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS)-has been validated. The extraction recoveries, optimized for raw wastewater, were between 84 and 105% depending on the compound. The analysis of the particulate phase is in progress. The levels of TCS, TCC and parabens were determined for four campaigns conducted on the five tributaries of Seine-Aval WWTP in France. 24-h flow proportional composite samples were collected for analysis in plastic bottles which inertia towards compounds has been tested. The maximum concentration found was 21,-423 ng/L, 4,735 ng/L, 3,886 ng/L, < limit of quantification (LOQ), 221 and 1,236 ng/L for MeP, EtP, PrP, BzP, IsoBuP and BuP, respectively. TCS and TCC were also identified at concentrations of 1,386 ng/L and < LOQ, respectively.
