Résumé

A hydro-thermal coupled model for unsaturated soil is presented, which takes moisture and heat transfers into consideration. A finite-element method by FreeFem++ is developed, allowing the spatial and temporal matric suction and temperature changes to be described. The volumetric water content, hydraulic conductivity and thermal conductivity are expressed as a function of the key variable-soil matric suction. Some other parameters are related to another key variable-soil temperature. Comparison between the numerical result and testing data shows the relevance of this coupled model provided that suitable boundary conditions and soil parameters are considered. This hydro-thermal coupled model can be used for predicting the change of matric suction (volumetric water content) and temperature in unsaturated soils and applied for investigating the interaction between unsaturated soil and atmosphere.
