Estimation relative de la vulnérabilité urbaine à Bucarest

In Bucharest, Romania, wall maps are the main tools of town planners and risk managers. Various databases were integrated into a GIS in order to improve spatial analysis. This enables risk managers and town planners to shift their focus from hazard to vulnerability. As approaches based on vulnerability raise problems of heterogeneous data, mixed units of measurement and the definition of thresholds, this paper proposes solution based on multivariate analysis. The different profiles of vulnerability are then mapped and superimposed on a hazard map, in order to produce a synthetic map of urban risk. This spectroscopy of vulnerability is designed to support planning and policymaking.
